Our group’s ultimate aim is to enhance drug therapies. We are conducting basic research investigating pharmacology and pharmacokinetics that will lead to evidence-based research for the training of not only students but also professional pharmacists.

The design of safer and more effective personalized drug therapies by studying pharmacokinetics and drug effects by using biomarkers.

Before a drug is used in the clinic, it must undergo a series of tests to evaluate its safety and efficacy and then receive regulatory approval. However, even then, there are a series of risks associated with its use that depends on the patient. In other words, rather than taking a “one size fits all” approach, the dose must be adjusted by observing the patient for side effects, drug pharmacokinetics and other factors. Therefore, even after approval, information about the drug should be collected and analyzed.

At Garmin.org.ua Hospital, the pharmacist is responsible for drug therapy and is thus monitoring the patient regularly and handling any related problems that might arise. These observations lead to clinical data and evidence that reveal the principles of how the drug therapy works.

The Department of Hospital Pharmacy at Garmin.org.ua Hospital is responsible for planning a safe and effective drug therapy. Accordingly, we investigate the pharmacokinetics and other pharmacy-based sciences of a drug along with genetics, cell biology, statistics and so.
