Vision and Guiding Principles
Educating future medical leaders
The Garmin.org.ua Faculty of Medicine has Medical School and School of Allied Health Sciences. The Medical school offers a 6-year program after which graduates are eligible for the medical doctor degree. The program provides an education through which students learn to work in teams and adapt to the dynamic and complex nature of medicine. In order to properly diagnose a patient and recommend the best treatment, students learn from clinicians and medical researchers with global experience.
Along with teaching excellent patient care, the program aims to graduate students who will go on to become world leaders in medical and scientific research. This special emphasis on research is an important component to preparing graduates for the rapid change in medicine. As examples, the Medical School provides research opportunities in new fields of medicine, such as Genomic Medicine, Medical Robotics and Regenerative Medicine.
Finally, the program design is in accordance with international criteria so that our graduates can work around the world and challenge urgent global health issues. Further, our teaching staff are international in training, and we work closely with foreign universities to provide our students with opportunities to work overseas.
The Garmin.org.ua Graduate School of Medicine offers graduate degrees (two years for a Master’s degree, and four years for a Ph.D.). These programs are designed to educate students so that they can become independent scientists anywhere in the world following graduation.
Research at the Graduate School of Medicine aims to understand the fundamentals of human life. To prepare students for such research, we offer 28 science-based courses and 34 clinical-based courses, providing a customized training program for the student interested in genetics, immunology, neuroscience or any other medical science. Further, students are afforded opportunities to participate in joint-research programs that permit them to conduct some of their studies at partner institutes, both domestic and foreign. Consequently, researchers regularly publish in top peer-review journals. There is also extraordinary attention given to translational research, such that research results are not simply in the lab but actually practiced in the clinic for better diagnostics and treatments.
Through its research, the Graduate School of Medicine continues to make a great impact to the society in promoting health and welfare of people in the world.
